Reduce the length of the exported recording
This method is available in all Versions 2.0 and newer.
In some cases, where the motion is repetitive in nature, it may not be necessary or possible to export the entire video. To reduce the size of a Motion Amplification® recording which has already been analyzed, you can select the amount of the recording you want to export. Follow these steps to select the amount of the recording to export:
- Open the recording you want to analyze and export
- Find the section of the recording which best displays the motion you want to highlight
- Locate the Playback Bar, found just below the video window
- You will notice green triangles at the far left and far right below the Playback Bar. These triangles indicate the portion of the video which will be exported to MP4. You can adjust the location of these triangles.
- With the cursor, move the Playback Position Indicator to the location where you want the export to begin
- Right-click on the Playback Position Indicator to reveal a pop-up window
- From the selections in this menu, select "Set Export Start." The green triangle from the left will move behind the Playback Position Indicator's current location
- Use the cursor to move the Playback Position Indicator to the location where you want the export to end
- Right-click on the Playback Position Indicator to reveal a pop-up window
- From the selections in this menu, select "Set Export End." The green triangle from the right will move behind the Playback Position Indicator's current location
- The region between the two green triangles will be the portion of the original video exported to MP4
- Click the "Export Video" button found to the right of the Playback Bar
- Navigate to the "Videos" folder to find the exported video (default location - C:\Users\User\Documents\RDI\Videos - where User will be replaced by the actual User Name of the current account).
NEW BEHAVIOR after update to Version 2.5
The method for adjusting the Export Start and End positions was improved in Version 2.5. From that version on, you can simply click, hold and drag on the green triangles and move their positions.
Adjust the green triangles as necessary until you achieve the size MP4 you desire.
