The Iris M™ software makes use of a 'Region of Interest' (ROI). This is a small box drawn on the screen at various times during either the Acquisition process or Analysis process. This region has the following uses:
- Cropping the image seen by the camera in the Acquisition Software (Related Article - What is the difference between a Region of Interest (ROI) and Zooming the View?)
- Making displacement (velocity) measurements during analysis (Related Article - How do I measure displacement (velocity) in a recording?)
- During analysis, displaying time waveform and/or spectral information related to a particular region of the asset being measured
