Open Motion Explorer™ and create an Asset and Measurement Location in your Motion Explorer Tree.
Take a recording in the current Measurement Location.
Right click and select "Set Reference" from the drop-down list or simply select "Set Reference" in the top toolbar ribbon while the desired recording is selected.
The recording will get marked as the Reference Recording.
Launch "New Recording" from Motion Explorer by right-clicking on the Reference Recording. RDI Acquisition will launch and use the settings from the Reference Recording for the new recording. Or you can click on the "New Recording" icon in the toolbar with the Reference Recording selected.
NOTE
In Motion Amplification®, make sure the Reference Recording is closed before attempting to take and save the next recording or the ROI location will fail.
RDI Acquisition will open. You will notice that the image appears without any ROIs. This is normal. The software will place the ROIs after the recording gets saved. Click the "Alignment Overlay Options" icon and adjust settings as necessary.
When the overlay is active, the icon will be shaded grey. You will then see the current image transparently over the top of the Reference Recording. There is a drop-down arrow to the right of the icon where you'll find additional configuration options.
The software will attempt to locate ROIs where they are in the Master Recording. The "ROI Matching" algorithm is pretty generous. You should try to duplicate the original location as closely as possible, but even if the "feature" that the ROI locks on to is slightly misaligned or rotated, the software will attempt to duplicate the original location.
NOTE
The above alignment is intentionally poor to show the two images, but the software did correctly place the ROI back on the RDI Target as shown below.
The attached video shows these steps.
